Cardiff Met is unique in having two campuses on opposite sides of the city — Cyncoed in the northeast and Llandaff in the west. That means students end up living in very different areas depending on their school. Here’s where we collect from regularly:
The Cyncoed campus halls offer 549 rooms for Sport, Education and Humanities students — but even on-campus students need laundry sorted. Skip the on-site laundry room queues during freshers and exam season and let Wash Cycle collect directly from your halls.
Plas Gwyn is Cardiff Met’s 392-room halls complex located right next to the Llandaff campus on Western Avenue — ideal for Art & Design, Management, Health Sciences and Technology students. We collect from Plas Gwyn and all surrounding streets in the Llandaff area.
Roath is the most popular off-campus area for Cyncoed students, sitting just south of the campus with easy bus access. Students living on Albany Road, City Road, Wellfield Road, Claude Road and surrounding streets use Wash Cycle regularly. It’s one of our busiest collection zones.
Students who choose to live closer to campus in the Penylan and Cyncoed areas are also well within our service radius. Quieter and more residential, these neighbourhoods are popular with second and third year students.
Many Cardiff Met students — especially those who want to be closer to city-centre nightlife and other Cardiff University students — live in Cathays.
Heath sits between the Cyncoed campus and the city, making it a convenient choice for students who want easier access to both. We collect from across Heath, including streets around Albany Road and Whitchurch Road.

If you’re in halls at Cyncoed or Plas Gwyn, you’ll have access to on-site laundry rooms — but you’ll also know the reality: they fill up fast around deadlines and during freshers week, the machines can be temperamental, and it takes up a chunk of your day to get through a load.
If you’re in a shared house in Roath, Cathays, Llandaff or Canton, the situation is often worse. Shared washer-dryers break down, they’re shared between too many people, and there’s always someone whose wet washing has been sitting in the machine for three hours.
